Booksy pricing UK: what you pay in 2026
Booksy costs £40 a month in the UK, plus £5 a month for each extra team member, plus VAT. It doesn't charge commission on bookings, except for new clients who find you through its Boost feature, where it takes a one-off 30% of their first visit (minimum £5). Card payments and extra marketing texts cost extra.
Every price below comes from Booksy's UK pricing page and its UK terms, checked on 18 October 2026.
Checked 18 Oct 2026
Booksy's monthly price
| Item | Booksy's published price |
|---|---|
| Subscription | £40 a month, first user |
| Extra team members | £5 a month each |
| Free trial | 7 days |
| VAT | Added to all prices |
So a barbershop with three chairs would pay £40 + £5 + £5, which is £50 a month, then VAT on top: £60 a month in total.
Booksy says the subscription "includes all of our features, text and email marketing messages, a free marketplace listing, and unlimited bookings". Appointment confirmations and reminders are free.
The Boost fee
Booksy is also a marketplace: an app where the public search for barbers, salons and beauty businesses and book. Being listed is free. Boost is an optional feature that promotes your profile to more people on the marketplace.
If Boost is on and a client books with you for the first time, Booksy charges a one-time 30% of the total cost of their first visit, with a minimum of £5 (Booksy Boost). The tip isn't included. After that first visit, that client costs you nothing.
Booksy lists these channels as commission-free, even with Boost on:
- Your own Booksy booking link
- Instagram and Facebook booking buttons
- Google Search and Google Maps
One thing to check. Booksy's features page gave a different Boost figure when we checked: "40% of the first booking (min. £10)". The pricing page and the Boost page both say 30% with a £5 minimum. Ask Booksy which rate applies to your account before you switch Boost on.
Card payments and texts
| Item | Booksy's published price |
|---|---|
| Mobile Payments (in the app) | 1.29% + 20p + VAT per transaction |
| Tap to Pay | 0.99% + 20p + VAT per transaction |
| Fast Payouts (in 30 minutes) | 1.5% fee |
| Marketing texts | 500 free a month, then 5p each |
| Confirmations and reminders | Free |
Contract and cancelling
Booksy's pricing page says there's "no commitment required" and you can cancel any time. Its UK terms add the detail:
- Notice. You can cancel a monthly subscription "at any time but no later than 7 days before the end of the billing cycle", in writing or by email.
- Prepaid plans. If you pay for a long-term subscription up front, that fee is non-refundable.
- Who you contract with. Booksy UK LTD.
So if you want to stop, send the email at least a week before your next billing date.
Booksy and Fresha side by side
Many salons and barbers compare the two. Here are the published UK prices side by side, both checked on 18 October 2026 and both before VAT.
| Booksy | Fresha | |
|---|---|---|
| One person | £40 a month | £14.95 a month |
| Team of three | £50 a month | £29.85 a month (£9.95 each) |
| Fee on new marketplace clients | 30% of first visit, min £5, only with Boost on | 20% of first appointment, min £4 |
| Card payments made in the app or online | 1.29% + 20p (Booksy Mobile Payments) | 1.40% + 25p |
| Free trial | 7 days | 7 days |
| Contract | Monthly, 7 days' notice | Monthly, cancel any time |
What the table shows:
- For one to seven team members, Fresha costs less each month. From eight, Booksy's published price is lower (£75 against £79.60 for eight people, before VAT). Booksy also includes 500 marketing texts a month; Fresha charges 8p each.
- Booksy lets you choose whether to pay commission. Without Boost, there's no new client fee. On Fresha, the new client fee applies whenever a new client first finds you on its marketplace. See our Fresha pricing guide for how that works.
- Neither price includes VAT.
Which one costs less over a year depends on how many team members you have and how many new clients come from each marketplace. Work it out with your own numbers.
Who Booksy suits
- Barbers and solo stylists who want a booking app clients may already have on their phone.
- Shops that get most new clients from Instagram, Google and word of mouth, and want those to stay commission-free.
- Businesses that send a lot of marketing texts, because 500 a month are included.
It suits you less if you're a part-time solo stylist with few bookings, where a £40 monthly fee plus VAT is a bigger share of what you take.
Getting more from Booksy if you already use it
- Share your own booking link everywhere: Instagram bio, Google Business Profile, WhatsApp, and a QR code at the till. Those bookings are commission-free.
- Ask regulars to rebook through your link, not by searching the app, if you have Boost on.
- Use the free reminders. They cost nothing and help with no-shows.
- Look at Boost clients after three months. If they don't come back, the 30% fee is buying one-off visits.
